A White Christmas

The girls each got an American Girl - we love them! They were thrilled to get outfits for them - including matching pajamas!
Beautiful packages!

Our sweet little family! I can't believe it won't be long until the girls are 4 and 7...that sounds so old!

It snowed 14 inches in OKC! Shane shoveled the driveway so everyone had a place to park when they arrived - thanks Shane!
Ally and her best friend Hayden - they want to be together all the time!
The road conditions were pretty bad for our drive. 40-50mph winds from the north - blowing the snow creating white out conditions - yikes! When we hit Oklahoma County we weren't sure we'd make it through the deep snow....but with Shane amazing driving skills we arrived safely - whew!

Inks Lake

We had the most amazing vacation to Inks Lake the weekend before Thanksgiving. We hiked through caverns, hiked around waterfalls, kayaked, and rode our bikes. We all enjoyed being "unplugged"!
Our great hikers! They went on 1-2 hour hikes both days!

Fun at the park!

My sweet girls!

I think this should be on the Texas Parks website!!

Anna's new bike!

I love that we can ride as a family now!
We put Ally on the back of my bike and off we go!

Favorite Things

Anna - 6 1/2
Anna still loves to read! Her favorite series right now are “My America”, diaries of girls between the ages 8 and 15 during important times in American History and “American Girl” books. Someday Anna wants to be a famous artist – projects and crafts are things she loves to do. Last summer Anna swam on a city swim team and really enjoyed it. Breaststroke is her best stroke right now, but she is taking swim lessons twice a week to work on her front and back crawl. Maybe she’ll be ready for the individual medley by summer ;) In December Anna will be joining some of her good friends as a Girl Scout – she is pretty excited! Reading isn’t Anna’s only passion, she also likes math. In the car when she had me quizzing her on math facts I ask her what 4 plus 8 is….she said, the same as 4 times 3…..yes – just not the answer I expected! I love watching the way her mind works!

Ally 3 1/2
Ally is our little daredevil! Last week she climbed up on top of the popup (about 4 feet high), ran across the top of it and jumped off! When she landed she just giggled. YIKES! Ally loves books, babies and Barbies. She also LOVES to play dress-up - she has been known to change outfits 5 times in 10 minutes! Ally’s teachers say they love her because she just talks and talks to them…..I think, she just may think she is one of them! She is also happy to eat most anything! She loves ALL veggies – spinach, broccoli, you name it! She also loves to eat fish – her favorites are salmon and tilapia…that is normal for a 3 year old, right?? Ally is also taking swim lessons twice a week – she is quite the fish. Her class is also working on the back crawl as well correct breathing.

Okay – I’m exhausted just from writing this!!

Another great campout!

Last weekend we camped at Lake Ray Roberts with Grandmums & Grandpa. We had a great time carving pumpkins, going for bike rides and telling spooky stories by the campfire. It was the most beautiful weekend!

First Fire!

Shane built our first fire last night - it was wonderful! We all sat around the fireplace while I read to them. It was as if we had steped back in time. What a wonderful evening!
The girls watching the fire.

Can you see them?

Eisenhower State Park

Our September camping trip was to Eisenhower State Park at Lake Texoma. We went with Nikki & Jason, some of our great friends we lived by in McKinney. The girls had a great time running around, swimming and climbing on the rocks! What a trip!

Our brave Anna - I couldn't believe the risks she was taking!
Me & Ally - out on the edge

Daddy and his girls - it was a beautiful day!

Our screen shelter was great! However, it seems camping
without our pop-up is quite a challenge

Maggie and Ally were neither on too sure about
climbing under the rock and through the water :)
